I’m very flattered to have had a painting selected for The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour 211th Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London for a 4th year.

This painting is from my series of views from the salt marshes near Tollesbury and you can see more details about via the Gallery’s online catalogue here:-

Varnishing Day at the RA Summer Exhibition

It was quite special to be able to attend ‘Varnishing Day’ at the Royal Academy recently. Starting with a walk over to St James’ Piccadilly for a ‘Service for Artists’, then back for a reception and a first look at our paintings on the wall. My landscape is in room V11 and the room has been curated beautifully (we all agreed) by Farshid Moussavi RA.

Here’s a link to a video of it:-   .a short walk-through room V11 at the Summer Exhibition

RA Summer Exhibition – shortlisted!!

I’m still in a state of shock and surprise to hear that ‘Bradwell from Tollesbury’ has been shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2022 – I had to read the email 3 times to make sure!

The painting is on canvas and is a mixed media landscape of Tollesbury salt marshes in Essex a weird and wonderful place, overlooking the river Blackwell estuary across to Bradwell sands and the decommissioned power station and is one of a series I’ve made of the area.
