My landscape ‘Bradwell from Tollesbury’ has been shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2022 – what great news! I nearly didn’t enter, but then decided I’d submit this one about 2 days before the deadline – glad I did now.
The painting is on canvas and is a mixed media landscape of Tollesbury salt marshes in Essex- an unusual and beautiful place with unique vegetation and wonderful light, overlooking the river Blackwell estuary across to Bradwell sands and the decommissioned Bradwell power station. It’s an area that I love to try and capture in paint, ink and collage and this is one of a series I’ve made of the area.
‘The Crown and Greyhound’ has been longlisted for Jackson’s Painting Prize, and they have a ‘People’s Vote’ where you can vote for your favourite paintings. If you’d like to vote for it, and have a chance to win £150 art materials too, the link is here – thanks – Jackson’s Painting Prize – vote here
After a difficult year when it was hard to paint very much (or to update my website at all!!) it was lovely to have news that ‘Welcome to Peckham’ has been pre-selected for the RI Watercolours 2022 exhibition at the Mall Galleries.
It’s a mixed water-media painting of one of my ‘local landmarks’ – The Prince of Peckham. After having several of my dress paintings selected in previous years, it’s flattering to have a painting from one of my very different genres shortlisted for this prestigious exhibition.
I was very pleased to hear that “The Staircase’ has been selected for the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour 2021 exhibition at the Mall galleries, London from 20-29 May (pre-booking for the exhibition is required!) Here’s some more info about my painting:- https://www.mallgalleries.org.uk/whats-on/exhibitions/royal-institute-painters-water-colours-209th-exhibition/staircase

2 of my watercolour paintings have been pre-selected for the Royal Institute of Watercolours exhibition at the Mall galleries. ‘Bessie’s Dress’ is a collage made from many fragments of hand painted pieces of paper with varied tartan and plaid effects. I really enjoyed making this painting. ‘Nancy’s Dress’ is a nod to the 20’s, now that we are in the 20’s again but was made before we knew what an awful start to the new decade was to come. Take care and stay safe, everyone.
‘Letrasetland’ mixed media landscape painting is one of the Editors’ picks for August on Artfinder. See more landscape paintings for sale here:- https://www.artfinder.com/suzsi-corio
I’m now selling paintings via Artfinder – this is a detail of ‘Big Rock Mountain’ which featured in their ‘Best of July’ collection. Here is the link https://www.artfinder.com/suzsi-corio More will be added soon.

Some of my work is available as prints via SaatchiArt here:- SaartchiArt – Suzsi Corio
Here’s one I have recently added:- it’s a collage in mixed media of Havana and Venice combined, slightly adapted for print format from the original which was sold recently to a collector in London. Prints of this artwork are available on paper or canvas, along with more details of it – Cuban Venetian prints available – Saatchiart
The collage is composed of fragments of some of my old paintings and tiny slivers of some of my digital prints and photographs of the cities, some of which I used as image transfers onto textured gesso to recreate the crumbling facades of many of the buildings in both Venice and Havana.
